The Barcelona Card as a public transport pass

With the Barcelona Card, you travel on Barcelona's public transport network without limits for the entire duration of your card. Included according to the booking channel:

• TMB metro and bus within the city
• FGC city and commuter trains
• Trams
• Airport trains and Renfe suburban trains in Zone 1

Not included: night buses. Journeys outside Zone 1 are also not covered.

Getting to and from the airport

The Barcelona Card covers Zone 1 local trains, including the airport link. This means you can travel between El Prat Airport and the city centre without purchasing a separate ticket - a convenient saving right from the moment you land. The exact scope is shown on your voucher and in the Barcelona Card brochure.

Using the card in practice

• Activation: The validity period starts with your first journey or first attraction visit. From that point, your chosen duration (48, 72, 96 or 120 hours) runs continuously.
• Boarding: Keep the physical card to hand and use it at the turnstiles, or show it during an inspection.
• Personal use only: The card is valid per person and is not transferable.

Good to know

For timetables and journey planning, use the official TMB resources or a public transport app. Metro and bus services run at frequent intervals throughout the day; at night, a separate night bus network operates - and that is not included in the card.
